During my childhood in the late '90s and early 2000s my father spent a lot of time filming everyday moments of our family life with a camcorder. During the digitization of the many miniDV cassettes I repeatedly noticed scenes showing abstract points of light. These different light sources appeared again and again throughout different years, locations and scenes. Apparently they were somehow appealing to my dad who was, for instance, filming us while we were playing on the beach, all of a sudden drawn to the moonlight and continuing to zoom in the moon for as much and as long as possible. The juxtaposition in the multi-channel video installation papapixel shows shots of different lights that blur into pixel clouds as they zoom in.
