A modular steel structure spreads rhizomatically in different directions. It serves as a mounting system on which drawings hang and videos lean, while also being a display for sculptures or found objects. As a carrier and support, it creates a dialogue between the different elements which in their form, function, or symbolism reflect my research on vascular instruments. The steel structure is also itself a flute that can be played.
The title “different kinds of ways to be all over the place” represents the invitation to remain open to a variety of perspectives; to multiple possibilities without imposing any one in particular. Narratives are interwoven to expand the possibil- ities of storytelling. This is particularly achieved through performances in which materials and objects are sonically explored and the installation becomes a stage (see here). The modular steel tubes can be assembled into various shapes, allowing to continually “finish” the installation and adapt it to its environment.
